Nice deck from Matt Dana, two things caught my eyes.
1. Slide 38-39: liked this idea of kairos as a perfect timing to offer something valuable. Kronos is long term, kairos is present.
Sounds like the definition of a moment of truth, aka. not an abstract funnel step but an « away from the keyboard » situation where people experience problems.
Kairos has the value of the context. This is Google Now. This is what we should chase to bring relevant information and make sure advertising doesn’t look like advertising.
2. Slide #62: dark patterns are fascinating. Because of their ability to use hacks for bad purpose. There’s lesson to learn here. Technology has no value. It can either do good things or bad ones.
Means are not ends.
