I had the pleasure to see Yves Morieux few years ago during a USI session led by a former client.
This recent talk hosted by a co-branded event with the BCG nails the same point regarding how companies should operate: kill bureaucracy, embrace flat organization charts and behead chain of command.
One of his best illustration of organizational lack of pragmatism is our ability to create more problems than necessary. I used this founding example when giving my vision of account planning in France vs. UK.
Also love the insight telling that the more we love each other, the less we cooperate. We do not want to impose trade offs to each others. This is why people within companies build islands and silos.
The solution lies within flat organizations where managers are integrators serving operators in an environment nudge driven (cf. the 6 rules of smart simplicity above).
